In a recent survey of 100 centenarians by Evercare, 3% of them said that they were using Twitter! Right now there are over 84,000 centenarians in the United States. My hunch is that probably less than 3% of them are tweeting as Evercare’s survey size is pretty small. Still, many seniors are turning to technology (often with some assistance) to stay connected to their friends, families and passions. Whether it is Twitter, a customized email solution or even an easy-to-use video phone (made specifically for seniors), there are creative ways to connect a homebound or isolated person to the things that they love.
The wealth of information, music, videos and pictures that can be found on the internet are something that all seniors should be privy to.
