We recently had one of our clients ask us about Facebook. Lloyd, in his 80s, wanted to know what all the talk was about and if he should be using it. He ultimately decided that it wasn’t worth his time because he had been in touch via email with his family (and in particular his grandchildren).
This conversation got us thinking about who is the oldest active user of Facebook. We also are wondering what they use it for and what inspired them to get started with it.
A quick google search led us to Ivy Bean who, at the age of 104, only has one comment on Facebook on her profile page. She does however have over 4000 friends (far more than the author of this blog!). We wonder how many other 104-year-old people are on Facebook, let along have a computer that they actively use.
Below is a photo of Ivy Bean:

We’d love to learn the following from you:
1) Who is the oldest person that you’re “friends” with on Facebook that you know is using the application THEMSELVES?
2) Who is the oldest person using Facebook that you could find?
3) Has anyone used Eons? What other social networking websites would you recommend for seniors, elders and older adults?
