Engage As You Age scheduled a panel discussion at the Larkspur Library for Monday, November 1st, 2010. We had no idea that Buster Posey would go on a tear… Read more »

Although long-term care insurance often includes homecare, we’ve yet to find a policy that accepts social visits or companionship services. Despite the many studies that point to the health benefits of socialization, nobody seems to include socialization as part of a long-term care… Read more »

Known for such classics as “Everybody Needs Somebody to Love,” “Cry to Me,” “You’re Good For Me,” and for also selling popcorn in-between sets, Burke was one of the last remaining and active soul singers from the 1960s. Known… Read more »

She stands two inches shy of five feet and didn’t begin acting professionally until she was 93. Mae Laborde isn’t looking to move into an assisted living facility or seeking homecare. Many studies have found that a person’s social environment can impact his or her health. In fact, numerous studies have found that lonely people suffer a higher rate of mortality than people who are not socially isolated. Researchers from UCLA took things a step further in a 2007 study in which they examined the biological… Read more »
